The American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2023 is now accepting applications in the United States. In the United States, the American University Award is a fully-funded scholarship. You'll receive a scholarship to study at American University in Washington, D.C. All expenses, including travel and housing, will be covered by the AU Emerging Global Leaders Scholarship (full tuition, room, and board). All foreign students from outside the United States are eligible for this fully funded scholarship.Proof of English proficiency is required for this scholarship. We've simplified things for you. The English Proficiency Language Certificate or the Duolingo English Test is less demanding than IELTS and may be done at any time from home. American University accepts the Duolingo English Test as well.

AU EGLS Benefits
The following expenses will be covered by the American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2023 in the United States for international students pursuing an undergraduate degree:

The EGL scholarship will not cover the following costs, which are estimated to be around $4,000 per year:
- Health Insurance
- Books
- Airline Tickets
- Miscellaneous Expenses.
- Eligibility Criteria
International students from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic origins are underrepresented.
For 9th-12th grades, a least 3.8 GPA equivalent out of 4.0 (or in the top 10% of the graduating class) is required.
Leadership, volunteerism, community involvement, and addressing the needs of people in their own nation have all been exhibited.
Students with one of the following:
- 95+ TOEFL iBT (All sub-scores must be at least 20)
- Sub-scores of 24+ on the paper-based TOEFL (Taken after May 31, 2017)
- 7.0+ IELTS (All subscores must be at least 6.0)
- 33 minimum SAT Reading Subscore
- 29 minimum ACT English
- 65 minimum PTE
- 120+ Duolingo (all subscores must be at least 110)
Ineligibility Criteria
If the applicant is a permanent resident of the United States, a citizen of the United States, or has dual nationality with the United States.
If you have already begun your studies in the United States or your home country.
Candidates who graduated from secondary school before 2020.
